Scholarships

Each year, the Louisville Alumnae Chapter supports the academic endeavors of local youth and young adults by providing scholarships to aid with their pursuit of higher education (see list below). These scholarships are made possible by the success of several chapter events, such as the Scholarship Brunch and Delta Day at the Races, and the generosity of donors like you.

The scholarship application is closed. Deadline for submissions was February 15, 2026. Applicants will receive an update on their application.

Delta Achievement Scholarship

Awarded to graduating African American high school female students who posses academic excellence and who are enrolled in a 4-year college or university in the fall.

EMBODI Scholarship

Awarded to an exceptional graduating African American high school male student who participates in the LAC EMBODI program and is enrolled in a four-year college or university. The student must not miss more than two (2) EMBODI sessions to qualify.

Nina Bedford Scholarship

The award recognizes an outstanding African American student in high school or traditional college whose mother or legal guardian is a proud member of the Louisville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This is open to both male and female students who will attend or are currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing their first baccalaureate degree.

MUST BE A MEMBER OF DELTA SIGMA THETA TO DONATE TO THIS SCHOLARSHIP.

Delta GEMS Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating African American high school female who participates in the LAC GEMs program and enrolled in a four-year college or university in the fall. The student must not miss more than two (2) GEMs sessions to qualify.

LAC Fortitude Scholarship

Awarded to an African American collegiate female student who qualifies as a junior or senior (with a minimum of 60 credit hours) and must be currently attending a four-year college or university.

Sharon D. Baker Scholarship

The award is given to non-traditional students (minimum age of 23 and older) attending a college or university with a field of study related to political science.
